Stork's Nest - is a 40-year-old partnership between Zeta Phi Beta and March of Dimes. Stork’s Nest is a community-based, prenatal, health promotion program for low-income pregnant women. The program is designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during pregnancy through two components-incentives and education. Stork’s Nest clients “earn” points toward incentives, such as maternity or baby care items, through a variety of positive, health-promoting activities; attending prenatal care appointments, participating in prenatal education classes, keeping appointments for well-baby visits,, etc. Thousands of women are serviced at Stork’s Nest all over the country every year.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has a national partnership with the American Cancer Society. Through our partnership, we are actively engaging communities to fight back against cancer, including recruiting members to participate in the American Cancer Society - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® National Team Program.
Prematurity Awareness - In response to the significant rise of premature births, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and the March of Dimes held national events aimed at increasing community awareness during the month of November. Sorority members conducted Prematurity Awareness Sunday activities in houses of worship across the nation. Through this faith-based initiative, Zeta Phi Beta has reached more than 150,000 parishioners. The sorority’s efforts were a prelude to the March of Dimes’ National Prematurity Awareness Day observance, which is also held each year in November. During this time, March of Dimes staff, volunteers, and Zeta members make a concerted effort to shed light on this public health problem. Download Maryland's 2015 Report Card
